皆さん英語はどうやって勉強しているでしょうか。私はなかなか英語だけを勉強しようとは思えないので、スマブラ海外大会で主に勉強しています。自分の勉強もかねて記事をかけるのでもはや一石三鳥ですね。
このシリーズではスマブラ大会の実況動画を紹介していますが、実況の英語って、とても速くて聞き取りづらいです。なので最初は全部を聞こうとせずに、分かりやすく理解できるところだけを聞くのがおすすめです。僕も聞き取れないところが多々あるショボい人間なので、一緒に勉強していきましょう。

この記事では、海外大会の動画を紹介しつつ、スマブラ大会の実況でよく出てくる英語表現かつ中学高校レベルで出てくるようなものをまとめています（僕がそれしかわからないので）。そしてその表現が、スマブラ大会実況でどのような場面で使われるのか、例を挙げながら説明していきます。スマブラを勉強しながら受験で使えるような英語も勉強してしまおうという趣旨です。
スマブラ用語の英語については、アユハさんや世界スマブラレポさんがすでにめちゃくちゃ詳しくまとめてくれています。なので僕の出る幕はありません。

注意事項
※文法的なところはよくわからないので適当です。細かいところは適当に訳してたりするので、意味を理解するのだけに利用してください。実況ではよく細かい文法は無視されます。受験生はその点に注意してください。リスニングと、意味を理解することに重点を置きましょう。もし間違い等問題があるところがあれば教えてくださるとうれしいです。

英語表現

美しい受け流し（ジャストシールド）
Cosmosが攻撃をジャストシールドしたシーンで使われています。
”beautiful”は解説は必要ないですね。”parry”は受験英語ではまず出てきませんが、”受け流し”や”かわし”という名詞です(動詞もあり)。海外では、スマブラSPでのジャストシールドのことを”parry”と呼ぶことが多いです。ダークソウルなどでよく使われる単語ですね。

he decided to down air.
彼は空下に決めた。
Tweekが崖つかまりの瞬間を狩ろうと持続の長い空下を選択した場面で使われています。”decide”は必須単語ですね。決めるという意味です。知っている方も多いかと思いますが、空下は”down air”です。

ほんの少し遅すぎた
先ほどと同様のシーンです。Tweekは崖つかまりの瞬間を空下で狩ろうとしましたが、わずかに間に合いませんでした。just a littleは必須の熟語。ほんの少しという意味です。bitはあまり気にしなくていいです。たまについててlittleとあまり意味は変わりません。too lateは重要で、遅すぎるという意味です。

私たちは非常によく似た勝者側決勝戦の陰（展開）を見ている。
勝者側決勝と同じような展開になったためこのようなコメントをしています。直訳だとわかりにくいですね。”see”は解説不要な感じもありますが、”見る”という意味です。似たような単語がたくさんあるのがめんどい点ですかね。”similar”は頻出単語で、”似ている”という形容詞です。勝者側決勝は、”winners final” です。

それはとても残念（不幸）だった
Tweekが空上着地からのおならをミスしたシーンで使われていす。
“unfortunate“は”残念な、不運な”といった形容詞で、覚えておかねばならぬ単語です。

ほとんど殺されていた
CosmosがTweekワリオの横強を食らってギリギリ撃墜しなかった場面で使われています。このようにギリギリ撃墜しなかった場面で”almost killed”という表現はスマブラ英語実況において頻出なので、スマブラ的には必須表現です。単に”almost!“と省略されることも多いです。
almostは普通に受験英語でも必須な、”ほとんど”という意味の副詞です。”kill”はレベル的には小学生英語ですが、物騒なので受験英語ではそんなに出てこないイメージがあります。

噛みつきが殺した
Tweekが崖上がりを噛みつきで狩ってそのまま撃墜したシーンで使われています。直訳すると気持ち悪いですね。意訳すると”噛みつきで撃墜！”ってニュアンスでしょうか。
”chomp”は正直覚える価値のない単語(私もわからなくて調べました)で、むしゃむしゃ食べるとかいう意味です。スマブラ的にはTOEIC600ぐらいから必要になってくる単語といったところでしょうか。“bite”のほうがよくつかわれるイメージがあります。
ワリオ使いは必須単語ですよ。
4:13~ chomp is kill move starting around 140 depending on the character

噛みつきはキャラに依存して140％周辺から始まる撃墜技だ。
上述と同様の場面です。スマブラ実況らしからぬ受験英語の例文のような良文章ですね。”kill move”は撃墜技と訳してしまって問題ないでしょう。”starting”は”kill move”を修飾していて、進行形で前の単語を修飾しているよくでてくるやつです。”depend on” は必須の表現で、”依存して”という意味です。
にしても140ぐらいから崖際で殺せる置き技ってまあまあ強いですよね。崖離しと回避上がり以外は狩れちゃうんでしょうか。あ、今作は攻撃上がりに直前まで無敵がついてるから攻撃上がりは狩れないんでしょうか？調べるの面倒なので誰か教えてください。

お互い撃墜しそうな高％の場面で使われています。”both”は必須単語ですね。”両方、二つとも”という意味の形容詞です。

また受験英語の例文のような表現が出てきましたよ。意外に実況の中にもあるもんですね。Tweekがバイクがなくて復帰できなかった場面で使われています。
“it take A for B to ~”で”Bが～するのにAかかる”っていう意味です。

セットカウントが1-1、Tweekはあと2ゲーム取れば優勝の場面で使われています。“need”は”必要とする”という意味です。

Tweekが暴れ気味の空下で相手を撃墜した場面で使われています。
” I’ve never seen ~”は”私は~を見たことがない”という意味です。このまま覚えてしまってもいいぐらいよく出てくる表現です。ここでの”like”は、”～のような”という意味で使われています。

ほとんど2分が経った
時間経過でたまるワリオのおならを警戒しての一言です。
”pass”は重要単語で、”通過する”や”次々に回す”や”(時間が)経過する”などの意味がある厄介な奴です。本質的な意味はどれも同じなんですが。
最後に
最近仕事で英語を勉強しろとうるさいので記事を書きました。正直言うと言語の違いは、テクノロジーがさっさと解決してくれやと思っている派なのですが、僕が若いうちには間に合わなそうなのでしっかり勉強します。英語がもっとできるようになればスマブラも楽しめますしね。これを読んでる中学生ぐらいの年齢の方はもしかしたら頑張らなくてもいいかもですが、それ以上の年齢の方は一緒に頑張りましょう。
